It happened around noon at Turn'N Headz Barbershop & Beauty Salon on Madison Avenue in the city's lower North End.
Fire officials tell News 12 the blaze seemed to start in the basement before shooting up the walls.
They say it could have been a lot worse were it not for the quick response of firefighters.
The cause of the fire under investigation.
