Officials protest Metro-North fare hikes

Local leaders spoke out today about fare hikes on Metro-North. They say train fares have gone up 4 percent this year, will increase 4 percent next year, and then another 4 percent in 2014. State Rep.

Local leaders spoke out today about fare hikes on Metro-North.
They say train fares have gone up 4 percent this year, will increase 4 percent next year, and then another 4 percent in 2014.
State Rep. Gail Lavielle (R-Wilton) and the head of the Connecticut Rail Commuter Council say this year's state budget proposal would take that added revenue for itself.
Instead, they want lawmakers to make sure the money goes back into the mass transit system.
