New rules are now in effect for young people hoping to do some holiday shopping at the Connecticut Post Mall.
The mall has implemented a "Parental Guidance Required" program for shoppers ages 17 and younger, who must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult age 21 or older during designated hours.
The mall says unsupervised youths shopping prior to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday or prior to 1 p.m; on Saturdays and Sundays must leave the mall by the designated time or will need to be joined by a parent or supervising adult age 21 or older.
The rules are in effect from Dec. 18 through Jan. 3.
One adult may accompany up to four youths, and all accompanied youths must always remain with the supervising adult while at the mall.
The mall says that proof of age may be required for the youth or supervising adult, such as a state issued driver’s license or state ID.  Those who lack proper identification will be asked to leave mall property.
