Some Bronx parents are calling for a crossing guard at a busy intersection near two schools.
For nearly 20 years, there was a traffic agent stationed at Valentine Avenue and East 183rd Street. After she retired back in June, she has not been replaced.
Parents from P.S. 9 and P.S. 209 say they've reached out to their local police precinct and called 311 about their safety concerns, but have not yet received a response.
Many parents say they plan to start a petition for a new guard, which they'll turn in to the local community board.
