A burst water main left a few homeowners and businesses in Stamford without water Sunday.
A pipe under High Ridge Road broke early in the day. Aquarion Water Company officials say only a few customers were left without water. Businesses requiring the use of water were hooked up with temporary services.
Aquarion officials are investigating what caused the pipe to burst. Company spokesman Jeffrey Farrell says changes in the weather this time of year tend to disrupt the ground, causing mains to break.
Water service is expected to return to normal by Sunday night.
