Police say one person was shot and a suspect was arrested after an attempted robbery at the Roosevelt Field Mall Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, a call reporting the attempted robbery in the Rolex section of the Tourneau store inside the Garden City mall came in at around 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say Oliver Lee, 21, of Queens, was the suspect whose gun discharged, striking a mall employee in the shoulder.
The man, described as in his 60s, is listed in serious but stable condition.
According to officials, an NYPD inspector who was shopping at the mall helped detain the suspect.
The mall was on lockdown for about an hour and was patrolled by police for the rest of the afternoon.
