Police say eight Waterbury teens are facing charges after two separate incidents involving stolen cars.
They say in the first case, 18-year-old Jomar Perez and two underage suspects led officers on a chase through Westport into Fairfield around 3 a.m. Monday.
According to police, Perez eventually hit a utility pole on Townhouse Road and began to flee. They say a K-9 unit was able to catch him.
Officials say the two juvenile suspects were picked up at the crash scene. They say gun magazines were found in the car.
"The vehicle was stolen out of Darien, and then chased or pursued from Westport police department, and then ultimately apprehended in Fairfield," says Fairfield Police Lt. Robert Kalamara. "If there was no coordination between the three agencies, we would not have been able to apprehend the suspects and get the vehicle back."
Stratford Police also arrested 18-year-old Edward Parmlee after him and four underage suspects were driving stolen cars and rifling through unlocked cars along Cutspring Road.
An off-duty officer spotted the group after a neighbor reported suspicious people in the area.
