Police allegedly Taser man suspected of armed robbery

Bridgeport police say they had no choice but to Taser an armed man they feared might open fire on them.  Police say they got a tip about a possible armed robbery and caught up with a suspect near Saunders

Bridgeport police say they had no choice but to Taser an armed man they feared might open fire on them. 
Police say they got a tip about a possible armed robbery and caught up with a suspect near Saunders and Reservoir avenues yesterday morning. 
They say the suspect tried to run, but officers tackled him in the street.
Police say the man resisted more than once as they tried to arrest him.
Police say an off-duty firefighter stepped in to help.
They say the suspect was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.
