Police caution drivers ahead of summer break
Police departments in southwestern Connecticut are urging drivers to be cautious on the road since young students will soon be on summer break.
The Fairfield Police Department says motorists should be extra careful in places where children and teenagers hang out. Police call this time of year a ?transition period,? where roads that were usually pedestrian-free will now be full of kids.
Police are being proactive with programs aimed at making sure motorists drive within the speed limit during the summer months. They say they are now handing out fliers to drivers reminding them to be careful. Police say they will also be out with radar guns to enforce the speed limit.
