Police: Delivery driver shot during attempted robbery in parking lot of Miller Nissan; suspect detained

A delivery driver was shot during an attempted robbery at Miller Nissan car dealership in Fairfield and a suspect has been detained, police say.
The shooting happened just before 1 a.m. in the parking lot of Paul Miller Nissan car dealership on Kings Highway East.
They say the victim, a delivery driver for Miller Nissan of Fairfield was shot during an attempted robbery.
Police say the man was shot once in the stomach before walking across the street to the Cumberland Farms and asking for help.
He was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery and is expected to be OK. 
Cumberland Farms released a statement saying, "We’re grateful that one of our team members acted quickly in helping the victim and contacting the authorities. We are cooperating with local authorities as they investigate the incident."
Police say they detained a suspect.
