Police: Driver strikes New Haven Fire Department SUV head-on, dies at hospital

Police say the driver of a Honda Accord swerved over the double yellow line, crossed into the opposite lane and hit the SUV.

A driver died Saturday night after striking a New Haven Fire Department SUV head-on.
Police say it happened at the intersection of Hemingway and Russell streets around 8:30 p.m.
They say the driver of a Honda Accord swerved over the double yellow line, crossed into the opposite lane and hit the SUV.
When police arrived, they found fire personnel involved in the crash providing emergency aid to the Honda driver, including administering Narcan.
Everyone involved in the accident was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital. The driver of the Honda, who has not been identified yet, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
