Monroe police have identified the man killed in an accident along Route 111 Monday as a retired Norwalk police officer. Authorities say Liam Callahan, 43, was found in his SUV in the woods. He retired from the police force in 2007 after two disciplinary incidents, one of which involved him taking a piece of human skull from an accident scene. Norwalk Police Chief Thomas Kulhawik says the department is saddened by the loss of a former officer.
