Police say a young man was found shot to death in the back of a rented U-Haul van in Eastchester on Saturday night.
Police say they responded to a 911 call of gunshots heard within the confines of the 47th Precinct last night. They arrived on the scene to find the rental van had apparently crashed at the intersection of Reeds Mill Lane and Tillotson Avenue. The van was covered with bullet holes.
Investigators say the body of 22-year-old Jahbar Campbell was found in the back of the truck with multiple gunshot wounds.
Witnesses tell News 12 that about 12 young men had surrounded the U-Haul van and demanded that the driver get out. That's when witnesses say the young man started shooting, and the other men apparently returned fire.
The NYPD says no arrests have been made.
