Bridgeport police say the man who was hit by a speeding car that officers were attempting to pull over has died.
Investigators say David Anthony Anderson, 22, was driving to work when he was blindsided and hit by an oncoming car at the intersection of Barnum Avenue and Brooks Street Monday. Police say he was thrown from his SUV when it rolled over.
Police say that 20-year-old Geraldo Maldonado was speeding when he hit him. An officer apparently noticed the Bridgeport resident going too fast down Pembroke Street, and seconds before he was going to pull him over, they say he smashed into Anderson's SUV.
Authorities say that Maldonado got out of his car and started to run away, but he was eventually caught. Officers say he is not yet facing any charges, but the investigation is still ongoing.
