A Norwalk man is under arrest this evening after police say he stabbed another man in the neck as the victim was lying in bed sleeping.

Police say a woman was in her apartment on Bedford Avenue this morning with her current boyfriend, when her ex-boyfriend called the house. They say he lured the woman and her 5-year-old child outside and then carried out the attack on the man while he slept.

Police say that despite serious wounds, the victim left the apartment and checked to see if his girlfriend was safe. They then walked back to the apartment and she called 911.

Officials say the victim was hospitalized but is expected to be OK.

The suspect is charged with attempted felony murder, burglary and home invasion.
