Police: Pedestrian struck by hit-and-run driver, another vehicle in Bridgeport

The first driver struck the pedestrian and immediately fled the scene, police say. The other driver then struck the pedestrian, who was on the ground.

Police say a pedestrian lying in a Bridgeport street following a hit-and-run was struck by another car.
The first driver struck the pedestrian and immediately fled the scene, police say. The other driver then struck the pedestrian, who was on the ground.
People in the second car spoke to News 12 and said they are heartbroken by the experience.
Ronnie Newland came along after the accident and saw how traumatized the driver of the second car was.
After police rushed the victim to the hospital, a portion of Main Street remained shut down for about four hours.
Police have not identified the victim but say they are critically injured.
