A 31-year-old Stratford man has been charged in the fatal stabbing of his mother inside her home, police say.

They say officers responded to 26 Baird Court at approximately 7:14 a.m. after Thomas Walker came to the Stratford Police Department to report the incident.

Walker was charged with murder and held on $1 million bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Police did not release any details surrounding the incident.
