Bridgeport police are commending three officers for saving the life of an inmate who tried to commit suicide.
Police say Albert Nalewajk, 43, was in this cell last night when he became depressed and tried to commit suicide.
Investigators say Nalewajk ripped up his T-shirt and turned it into a noose, then tried to hang himself from the ceiling.
Police say their officers spotted him and immediately cut him down, then performed CPR.
Nalewajk was in jail on a breach of peace charge. Nalewajk is now being monitored in the hospital for his own safety, according to police.
