Police reported Sunday that only two men were killed after a car crashed into a tree Saturday morning in Bridgeport and one man is in critical condition at a local hospital.
Residents say they heard a loud crunching sound just after 6:00 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Chopsey Hill Road and Summit Street. Police rushed to the scene to find the car wrapped around a tree.
Rescue officials had to use the jaws of life to free the passengers from the wreckage. Police have confirmed that one of the two passengers who died was 21-year-old Mariono Ruiz. The second person has yet to be identified.
Maleek Chandler, 27, is in critical condition.
