The body of a male was recovered in the Hudson River during a search at Haverstraw Beach State Park, police say.
Several agencies responded after reports of a person who was last seen entering the water at the park, located on Riverside Avenue.
Police say the individual went missing around 4 p.m.

State police say he was later found dead in the water. Preliminary investigation indicates the cause of death to be an apparent accidental drowning.
"This is very scary,” says Kokila Panchal, a Haverstraw resident.
News 12 saw a helicopter flying low around the area and police boats searching out on the Hudson River.
"That's not normal for this area. I come around here pretty often, and I was kind of worried when I rolled up. I was hoping nobody got hurt,” says Angela Tucci, a West Haverstraw resident.
"The ambulance and fire trucks went down on the trail and so I went further down, and more emergency people came,” Alison Edmonds, a Haverstraw resident.
