The SWAT team responded to a home in Shelton Wednesday afternoon after police say a man made threatening comments about killing people.
Police say the situation started around 1 p.m. on North Meadow Ridge Drive.
Officials say a man who lives at a home in the neighborhood had threatened to kill others. They say when officers made a welfare check on the man, he barricaded himself inside the home.
The SWAT team was called in and the man later voluntarily surrendered.
Police say the man who made the threatening comments was committed to a hospital.
His name is not being released at this time.
