Fairfield police say they arrested a Trumbull man after he attacked his pregnant girlfriend in a public parking lot.
According to police, 31-year-old Fernando Cortinhas and his girlfriend were arguing last Saturday morning outside the Sportsplex athletic complex in Fairfield.
Police say witnesses told them Cortinhas threw the victim's cellphone to the ground before grabbing her throat and pushing her against a car.
There was no word on the extent of the victim's injuries.
