Trumbull police say a bank robbery Friday morning is linked to a carjacking that took place on Thursday.
Officers say two men held up the People's United on Madison Avenue at around 9 a.m. They say the men then fled in a Ford Fusion taken during a carjacking at the Marriott Thursday morning.
The car was later found at the Westfield Mall parking lot, where it had been set on fire.
Police say once the suspects set the car on fire, they took off in different nearby vehicles. They say one was an older model white pickup truck, while the other was a newer black or dark colored Jeep Cherokee with tinted windows.
State police say that the FBI and other local police are lending a hand in the bank robbery investigation. Officials say no one was injured during the bank robbery or car fire.
