Police: Vehicle backed through front entrance of Fairfield smoke shop, items stolen

Authorities say surveillance footage showed two individuals entering the shop and taking several items.

The Mohegan Smoke Shop on Tunxis Hill Cutoff in Fairfield was broken into early Sunday morning.
Police say they responded to the shop around 3:20 a.m. Upon arrival, they found the storefront with significant damage.
Police later determined that a vehicle had backed through the storefront to gain entry to the business.
Authorities say surveillance footage showed two individuals entering the shop and taking several items.
The vehicle was later found unoccupied. Fairfield detectives are actively investigating the incident.
