New Canaan police say a New York woman led officers on a bizarre chase in which she allegedly crashed into two cruisers and ran over a patrolman's foot early Friday morning.
Officers stopped Donna Berisha, 52, several times during the chase, which began around 1 a.m. after she allegedly used her car to block traffic on Oenoke Ridge Road.
During one of those stops, police say she ran over an officer's foot, fracturing the bone.
The chase crossed state lines into New York, where state troopers there arrested her and turned her over to their New Canaan counterparts.
The injured officer is expected to be OK. No one else was hurt.
A judge set bond for Berisha at $10,000. Her next court appearance is March 31.
