State police on Monday searched an area in New Canaan near where Jennifer Dulos' SUV was found abandoned back in 2019.
Police honed in on the woods behind New Canaan's mulch site - a piece of property owned by the town across from Waveny Park.
The park was a focus of several searches initially after Dulos disappeared on May 24, 2019.
That night, police found her Chevy Suburban parked on Lapham Road just outside of Waveny - a spot not far from investigative efforts Monday, where detectives and K-9s arrived in the morning.
Police would only confirm they were there in connection to the death of Dulos.
They issued a statement saying in part, "This is being done out of an abundance of caution to explore every avenue related to the case. These follow-ups are standard procedure as our detectives thoroughly investigate any and all leads."
Police say they believe Dulos' estranged husband Fotis Dulos attacked her in her garage and then got rid of her body.
Fotis Dulos was caught on surveillance camera in Hartford throwing out clothing and cleaning supplies soaked in Jennifer Dulos' blood.
He was later charged with murder but killed himself shortly after.
His girlfriend at the time, Michelle Troconis, and a friend, Kent Mawhinney, were arrested on conspiracy charges. Both have pleaded not guilty.
Police finished up around 2 p.m. Monday and gave no indication of finding anything.
It is not clear if they will return Tuesday.
