A professional hockey player from Darien helped design a helmet honoring St. Luke's School student Teddy Balkind, who died after an accident at a hockey game.
Spencer Knight is a professional hockey player with the Florida Panthers and grew up in Darien.
Knight posted a video and pictures on his Instagram account of the helmet he and an artist created with the help of Belkind's teammates.
Balkind, a 10th grader, died following emergency surgery after a player's ice skate cut his neck during a high school hockey game at Hartong Rink.
