The Town of Greenwich says a proposed settlement has been reached with the Greenwich Reform Synagogue to put the house of worship in the Cos Cob section of town.
The Greenwich Reform Synagogue has been planning to build a new 12,000-square-foot building at 92 Orchard St.
The proposed settlement would drop the lawsuit the synagogue launched against the town and approve its construction at the site.
The Greenwich Reform Synagogue refused to comment, but Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei says people need to remember that it's not a done deal.
"I cannot forecast with 100 percent certainty what the outcome would be," he said.
The Board of Selectmen will vote on the proposed settlement Thursday at 10 a.m. If approved, it would then go before the zoning board.
