Public works crews in Litchfield County were hard at work Tuesday preparing for Wednesday's snowstorm.
The Director of the Public Works Department says Wednesday's storm was expected to be one of longest ones they have seen in a while.
"The only concern I have is coordinating the crew and helping them with the logistics," Raz Alexe says. "The moment they go past the 8-hour threshold that they usually work, I'm concerned about a level of fatigue and how they're going to cope with another round."
Snow was expected throughout the day, with rain and sleet in the evening.
The Public Works Department ordered about 200 tons more salt than normally used, and they expected to use the majority of that in the morning.
