Relatives of the 10 people who died in the Woodycrest Avenue fire met privately with Governor Eliot Spitzer (D-NY) Sunday. Spitzer and the relatives met at the Islamic Cultural Center in the Bronx. He told worshippers that the state would help the families with housing and employment. Bronx Congressman Jose Serrano (D-NY 16th) has also offered to help expedite visas for extended family members who need to travel to and from West Africa. Fire officials said the blaze was sparked by an overloaded space heater. The Product Safety Commission is investigating to see if there was a defect in that brand of heater. Meanwhile, a funeral service for the victims will be held Monday.Related Information: Highbridge fire claims 10th victim after 7-year-old dies in hospital
