A new report says Metro-North has sacrificed safety for on-time performance.
The report released yesterday by the Metropolitan Transit Authority echoes an assessment done earlier this year by the Federal Railroad Administration.
Officials at the railroad say they are working to improve safety.
Metro-North is under scrutiny after a string of accidents, including a derailment last year that killed four riders in the Bronx.
