Minnesota handed Rutgers University its sixth loss of the season at the school’s homecoming game in Piscataway Saturday evening.
The final score of the game was 42-7, as Rutgers fell to zero and five in the Big Ten.
Despite the score of the homecoming game, Rutgers alumni showed their Scarlet spirit outside the football stadium.

Tom Stremme, of Marmora, who has been tailgating at the university for years, says coming to the games is about more than the football.

"It doesn't matter whether they win or lose. I look forward to coming to the Rutgers games to spend my time with my fraternity brothers. That's what's important to us,” Stremme said.

Others are looking for a change to the program, starting with calls for the former Rutgers coach, Greg Schiano, to return.
Gene Kizenko, of Holmdel, says until the team finds significant success and the stands are packed once again, he will hang on to memories of past victories and Rutgers football highlights, including one time he recalls when Brian Leonard scored a touchdown.

Most fans and alumni say of course they want to see results, but no matter the record they will continue to support this Rutgers team.
