Sacred Heart University hosted walk for peace at its Chapel Quad, in Fairfield.

The community gathered to walk, pray, and ask for peace around the world.

The president of the Sacred Heart University, Dr. John Petillo, said the community should not lose sight of unity.

"I think it's important because it reaffirms our mission and our culture here, the inclusiveness of caring, of sensitivity to the differences," said Petillo.

Petillo said he's grateful for the turnout and the respect everyone had for one another.
