A Shelton teen is using a 3D printer to make face shields for health care workers.
The 15-year-old Shelton High School student has donated more than 300 3D-printed face shields to health care workers fighting the coronavirus.
Josh Mallette, a sophomore at Shelton High School, started 3D printing in an inventors class a few years back.
Now he's using his own 3D printer at home to craft personal protective equipment for health care workers.
Mallette has donated more than 300 face shields to hospitals, dentist offices and more.
He says he assembles the shields with the help of his family and friends.
Together, Mallette says they've also donated around $400 in materials.
Mallette says he has enough materials to make up to 400 more face shields, and will keep making them as long as there's a demand.
