Bridgeport police are looking for a group of men who they say broke into a home and violently robbed three Sacred Heart University students living there.
The robbery took place on Old Town Road Saturday night in the middle of the snowstorm.
Police say three men wearing dark clothes had their faces covered and forced their way into the home. They say the suspects then assaulted the students inside before firing a shot and ransacking the basement.
Police say the students were severely injured in the attack. Two went to the hospital.
Officers say the victims knew their attackers.
"They knew what was going on in that house and I don't know what's going on in that house, and I can't say it, but I have a pretty good idea," says Bridgeport Police Detective A.J. Perez.
Investigators left the house with "packaging materials," but have not yet said what those were.
Police say they expect to make some arrests in this case soon. They also say the victims could also face charges if police determine there was illegal activity going on.
