Wet and slippery roads caused major problems for southwestern Connecticut drivers Thursday.
Police say they witnessed four dozen crashes and fender benders as soon as the snow started falling on the Merritt Parkway and Interstate 95.
Officials say most of the accidents could have been avoided if drivers reduced their speed and were driving responsibly.
According to police, the car accidents did not involve any serious injuries.
Police say even motorists driving the speed limit in wet, slippery road conditions could receive a ticket for 'speeding.
