Darien High School is closed today as a precaution after a threatening social media post was shared with school administrators early this morning.

The post was specific to the high school, and Darien police are actively investigating the credibility of the threat.

Officials initially announced a two-hour delay but later decided to close the school for the day.

Police remain in close communication with school officials and are asking anyone with information to contact the Darien Police Detective Division at 203-662-5330.

All other schools in town remain open on a regular schedule, with extra patrols in place.
