Ocean beaches from Long Island to Rhode Island remained closed Tuesday as Hermine continued spinning off the East Coast.
In Connecticut, state and local officials on Tuesday urged swimmers and boaters to think twice before venturing out on the Long Island Sound due to strong winds.
Although the water was rough and choppy, officials said Hermine spared Connecticut of damaging winds and flooding.
News 12 Connecticut was at Walnut Beach in Milford Tuesday morning, where winds were blowing up to 30 mph.
Wednesday is expected to be mostly cloudy with some light showers and temperatures reaching 82 degrees.
