The Stamford woman who lost her three daughters and parents in a Christmas fire is recovering this evening after allegedly trying to take her own life. Sources say Madonna Badger, who survived the blaze along with partner Michael Borcina, was hospitalized after an apparent suicide attempt. Badger today released a Facebook statement, which indicated that she was in a safe place and attempting to heal. Family counselors say Badger is likely experiencing an intense mixture of grief and guilt. "You learn to survive," counselor Amanda Romaniello said. "You learn to go on, but you do have to go through it, you have to experience it, you have to feel the feelings." Stamford police say they may release the findings of their investigation into the fire next week.
