Day two of the Special Olympics Summer Games continued Saturday in New Haven.
Over 1,700 athletes from Westport, Greenwich, Milford and other towns competed in swimming, track and field and cycling events.
Athletes also received free health screenings. Organizers said
the event is all about promoting inclusion.
"It's a lot of people with a lot of good energy. Happy people who are here, ready to show what they’re capable of doing in their sport,” said communications and marketing director Debbie Horne.
Events, including soccer, will continue Sunday at Fairfield University.
