St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport reached a milestone Tuesday.
The hospital held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Cardiac Electro-Physiology (EP) Lab.
Officials say St. Vincent's is the only hospital in the tri-state area to offer a full spectrum of treatment for atrial fibrillation.
The new space will allow doctors to treat arrhythmia, implant heart devices and monitor congestive heart failure.
The EP lab took about two years to plan and complete.
Patients will begin treatment in the lab starting Wednesday.
