Stamford Boy Scouts teamed up Saturday to collect sandwiches for the New Covenant Soup Kitchen.
Every other Saturday, Troop 11 makes, collects and delivers nearly 200 fresh sandwiches for the kitchen. To date, the troop says it has delivered close to 1,500 sandwiches to feed the homeless.
Troop 11 partnered up with Troop 9 in the hopes of collecting their biggest haul yet.
Scoutmaster John Clapps says with all of their in-person meetings canceled, the troop needed to find a way to help the community while staying safe.
