A Stamford coffee brewer is giving health care workers in the state an extra pick-me-up amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Rise Nitro Brewing Company has been distributing boxes stuffed with protein bars, granola and nitro-cold brew coffee to 12 hospitals and EMS posts.
Stamford EMS Assistant Chief Edward Browne says his EMTs don't have the luxury of taking shelter-at-home.
He says as they respond to a flurry of COVID-19 calls, a little coffee will go a long way.
The coffee brewer says with extra care package requests coming in from as far as Boston, it will keep showing its appreciation the best way it knows how.
Stamford EMS is a nonprofit organization funded by donations.
