Stamford is marking a major moment for local veterans and their financial futures.
Mayor Caroline Simmons visited the Stamford Veterans Resource Center Tuesday for a ceremonial signing of the city’s new Veterans Property Tax Exemption ordinance.
The ordinance expands property tax exemptions for veterans living in Stamford. City leaders say the move not only delivers thousands of dollars in savings to the city's residents, but it also reinforces Stamford’s ongoing commitment to honor and support those who served.
Officials noted that the signing, though symbolic, reflects the swift actions taken by the tax assessor's office to ensure this plan stayed within budget, but still effective enough to serve the community of veterans in the city.
