A Stamford musician has dedicated his newest song to veterans this Fourth of July weekend.
Kali Taino told News 12 the music he writes and performs is inspired by his patriotism and personal experiences.
Taino was recently honored at the Urban Latin Music Awards, where he was named Upcoming Artist of the Year.
Taino said while Independence Day is a great time to relax and have fun, he also wants people to think about the men and women who have served to protect our freedom.
"It's very important for us to remember them and show them respect," he explained. Taino added that there is one easy way to do that. "When you see a see a veteran walk by, acknowledge them and tell them you appreciate their service."
