Two Stamford police officers were awarded Monday following a heroic act of service in October.
Officers Tim Inverno and Tom Landry were off duty at a restaurant when they saved a woman from choking in the dining room.
The officers happened to be there following the annual Stamford Police Association golf tournament.
Police Chief Timothy Shaw says the quick actions by the officers were lifesaving.
"If not for the quick actions of Officer Tim Inverno and Officer Tom Landry, this incident may have turned for the worst. I would like to respectfully recommend that Officers Inverno and Landry be recognized for their quick actions and life-saving efforts they demonstrated that evening,” Shaw says.
The victim also attended the ceremony to express her gratitude to the officers.
