Stamford police say a man who is allegedly responsible for the 2007 shooting death of 22-year-old Gregory Cowell was arrested and arraigned Wednesday.
According to authorities, 18-year old Hyshon Smith shot and killed Rowell Dec. 5 last year as he sat inside his car at the Myano Lane parking lot.
During the arraignment, Smith's lawyer asked the judge to throw out his confession, saying that his client may have been under the influence of drugs when he was questioned about the case.
"This is the first step to closure," says the victim?s brother, Thomas Rowell, referring to Smith?s arrest. "It's not going to bring him back, but it takes some kind of closure to myself and to my family as well."
Smith's bail has been set at $1 million. Police say the case is still under investigation.
