Stamford detectives are assisting in the search for a missing man from Wolcott.

Stamford Police Lt. Diedrich Hohn says Scott Basile, 23, was last seen in Norwich Jan 2. Stamford police became involved in the investigation when they say his car jumped the curb in front of the Government Center last Thursday.

Hohn says a male believed to be Basile was seen fleeing the car.

Police are using DNA evidence from the car and surveillance video to track down the driver of the 2008 Ford Taurus.

Basile's family is also appealing to the public for help finding him.
