Two men are facing felony charges after a drug bust Friday night that led Stamford police to make the largest cash seizure in department history.
Victor Marte, 26, and Eduardo Tavarez, 30, were arrested at an apartment building on Strawberry Hill Avenue. Officials say the two men were hiding large amounts of cash and cocaine.
After the arrest, officers say they were led to a second apartment on Southfield Avenue where even more evidence was discovered.
Stamford police say they worked with the Drug Enforcement Agency to follow the men, who had been selling drugs in Manhattan. Overall, officials seized 37 kilos of cocaine and $1 million in cash.
