State officials say a resident of Stamford has tested positive for West Nile virus.
The state Health Department says the person is in their 60s and has been hospitalized since the third week of July with a fever and severe muscle weakness. Officials tell News 12 Connecticut that the patient is improving.
The man is the second human case of West Nile virus in southwestern Connecticut this year.
